Statement from The Investment Committee on behalf of Hineuru Iwi Trust

We would like to inform our iwi that, after careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cease commercial operations at the Tarawera Café as of 16 August 2024.

The world is very different now to what it was when we embarked on this venture, and we want to emphasise that this closure is not the end of the road for the Tarawera Site.

The Trust will be reviewing the market and will consider options for development of the area.

We appreciate your continued support and understanding during this transition period, and we look forward to sharing our vision for the future of the Tarawera Site soon.
