Whānau Cherry Picking Day

We are excited to invite iwi members to our Whānau Cherry Picking Day at our Dartmoor Orchard! This is a wonderful opportunity to spend time together, enjoy the outdoors, and of course, pick some delicious cherries.

Details:

  • Date: 28th December
  • Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Location: 483 Dartmoor Road, Puketapu 4186

Important Notes:

  • Footwear: For your safety, please wear suitable footwear (e.g., no jandals, please!).
  • Hi-Vis: If you have one, bring a hi-vis vest to help ensure visibility in the orchard.
  • Children: All children must be accompanied by a guardian at all times.
  • Sun Protection: Sunblock is highly recommended, and remember to stay hydrated.
  • Containers: Don’t forget to bring a container to take home your freshly picked cherries.

We look forward to seeing you there for a fun-filled day in the orchard. It’s a great chance to enjoy the harvest.

Drop-in Workshops 

Drop-in Workshops

As announced by the Chair at the AGM, the Trust is hosting Drop-in Workshops at our office (14 West Quay, Ahuriri) for whānau to attend to give their whakaaro and aspirations on not only the next strategic plan but also four specific items the Trustees wish to consult on. These include the possible establishment of kāhui kaumātua, how best to represent all eponymous tūpuna lines on our Membership Committee, whakaaro on the Pouwhenua project, and finally, what Hineuru Housing could look like.
If you have thoughts on one or all of the above, be sure to pop in.

Vacancy: Administration Generalist

About the Role

Hineuru Iwi Trust is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Administration Generalist to support our operational and governance activities. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of our Whānau database, coordinating administrative functions, and facilitating smooth communication and logistics across the Trust.

Working closely with Senior Administration, our internal team and external partners, this position offers an opportunity to contribute to the Trust’s strategic goals and play a key role in serving our community.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Perform daily tasks such as data entry, database management, and handling correspondence, coordinating logistics, travel, and accommodation for staff and board members.
  • Act as a secretary and minute-taker for board meetings, prepare agendas and documentation, and maintain accurate governance communication records.
  • Assist in organizing Annual and Special General Meetings (AGM/SGM), including arranging venues, catering, and managing voting and attendee registrations.
  • Maintain and update the Whānau database to ensure data accuracy and reliability, supporting seamless information flow and strategic planning.

Your Skills and Experience

  • A commitment to Te Reo me ngā Tikanga Māori.
  • Previous experience in administration, data entry, or governance roles is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management, strong organizational and multitasking abilities, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with a commitment to confidentiality.

About the Role

As the Senior Administrator at Hineuru Iwi Trust, you will be a key driver of our operational success, ensuring that the Trust runs smoothly and efficiently. Working closely with the CEO, you’ll provide high-quality support while overseeing daily operations.

This role is ideal for a proactive leader who thrives in managing diverse responsibilities, including strategic planning, staff oversight, and liaising with external stakeholders to promote the Trust’s objectives.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operational functions across the organisation.
  • Develop, review, and implement policies and procedures.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and manage projects to meet strategic goals.
  • Monitor performance metrics and provide recommendations for improvements to the CEO.
  • Provide administrative and secretarial support, including managing the CEO’s calendar, preparing reports, and coordinating meetings.
  • Represent Hineuru Iwi Trust in external engagements, fostering key relationships with community networks and government ministries.

Your Skills and Experience

  • A commitment to Te Reo me ngā Tikanga Māori.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in operations or project management with leadership skills, preferably in the Charitable Trust sector.
  • Expertise in strategic planning and policy implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to build relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail, planning, and problem-solving abilities.

The Annual General Meeting for Hineuru Iwi Trust will be held on Saturday, 16 November 2024, at Te Hāroto Marae, commencing at 11 AM. All iwi members are welcome.

Wānanga – Hineuru Whakapapa

Hineuru Whakapapa | Whenua & Whānau

After two very successful wānanga series, the Trust is most pleased to release the dates for the third and final wānanga block for 2024. Hineuru Whakapapa. These focus on both our whenua and whānau.

Key details:

  • Dates: 11-13 Oct, 8-10 Nov, 22-24 Nov
  • Location: Te Hāroto Marae

RSVP is essential for catering and accommodation. This can be sent to kataraina@hineuru.com. RSVPs are due by the Wednesday the week of each wānanga.

Note: The final wānanga includes a bus tour of sites of significance within the takiwā. The Trust seeks active participation at the wānanga prior to the final one. All information taught and discussed builds towards the final wānanga.
