A win for Ngāti Hineuru

Recently after tireless dedication and work towards this kaupapa, Ngāti Hineuru has rightfully been reinstated and recognised as mana whenua within our portion of the Rangitāiki River.

Below is the updated document that includes Ngāti Hineuru traditional associations with the Rangitāiki River (refer to pg 17).

This has been a significant piece of work for the Trust. Under Pou 4 (Environment), a strategic aspiration is exercising our rangatiratanga and mana whenua over taonga like the Rangitāiki River.
