Nau mai piki mai! Hineuru Whakapiki Wairua Day

Tēnā tātou Hineuru whānui

We wish to welcome you to our Whakapiki Wairua Day, being held next week, 12 April 2023, at the Napier War Memorial Conference Centre. This pānui provides you with more information about the why and the what of this kaupapa.

After the past six weeks of turmoil, we wanted to touch base with our whanau to check in and see how everyone was going and provide a space for whānau to come and take their mind off things for an hour or two with mirimiri, haircuts and even foot spas.

The purpose of this day is to relax a little and have a kai and kōrero.

Details:

  • What: Whakapiki Wairua Day
  • Time: 10 AM – 3 PM
  • Venue: Napier War Memorial conference centre

We will all meet at the Napier War Memorial Conference Centre and then split for a few hours.

Tamariki and Rangatahi

A 50-seater bus will arrive at 10:45 AM to take our tamariki and rangatahi to the  Napier Aquatic Centre. Please bring togs and a towel.

We will have some kai at the pools for tamariki and will be returned to the War Memorial. An adult must accompany children under 5 years of age.

Seats on the bus are first in, first served, and people will accompany our rangatahi.

Adults / Pakeke

We have organised for people to be available to pamper you and make you feel a little better.

  • Four hair-dressers and barbers have been confirmed
  • Four kaimirimiri are confirmed
  • Te Kupenga Hauora will be doing health checks and vaccinations
  • Kai will be available and coffee etc.

Our whānau are most welcome. For mirimiri and haircuts, walk-ins are welcome on a first-come, first-served basis. Parents, bring your tamariki and come and relax for a little bit. Pakeke and kaumatua, come and have a little pamper day and let go of some of the stress.

Maori Womens Welfare League will also join us to help whānau complete the census.

We will conclude the day with a hangi on the forecourt at 2:45 PM to pick up on the way out.

Please register your interest at info@hineuru.com, and we will see you there.

Mai Hineuru, mō Hineuru.
